Dry Shoulder and Hip Arthroscopy Labs

SICOT will host Dry Labs in Shoulder and Hip Arthroscopy in Oman this year. The aim is to help participants interested in starting these fields to get basic arthroscopic information and perform basic skills on dry models. This year’s labs are sponsored by Karl Storz, who will provide the models, instruments and anchors.

Target participants: Surgeons interested in starting Shoulder or Hip Arthroscopy

Format: Each lab will consist of 1 half day. There will be 3 introductory lectures, followed by 1.5 hours of hands-on skills training. There will be 4 stations and 3 participants per station. 

Fee: EUR 100 per lab

Participants must register and pay the registration fee for the 40th SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress to be able to register for these Dry Labs.

Shoulder Arthroscopy Lab:

1. Lectures: 10 minutes each

   1. Portals & Arthroscopic Anatomy

   2. Bankart Repair Technique

   3. Cuff Repair Technique

   4. Tips and Tricks to Avoid Complications

2. Hands-on Skill Training (1.5 hours)

Hip Arthroscopy Lab:

1. Lectures: 10 minutes each

   1. Portals & Arthroscopic Anatomy

   2. Addressing the Cam

   3. Addressing the Pincer and Labral repair

   4. Tips and Tricks to Avoid Complications

2. Hands-on Skill Training (1.5 hours)
